We hope a web3 environment in Worldseekers can enhance and reinforce the community building web2 features while opening up players to some of the opportunities web3 provides. In short… the web3 mullet.
We have three main features in web3 that we believe will achieve these goals. I’ve ordered them from simplest to implement to more advanced.
This is the simplest and most expandable approach given the game’s current structure and systems.
Players can mint items of legendary or higher rarity
All items normally cap at level 50, but if a player combines two NFTS of an item, the item and increase in power at 5 level increments.
Two Level 50 "Ultimate Wands" → one L55 "Ultimate Wand")
This can continue linearly and will create high demand for level 50 items to start the combination chains.
Adds prestige for committed players
Creates a gear economy without impacting balance (since biomes can scale infinitely and PvP combats can have locked levels)
Enables item ownership and history of item provenance
The vision here is to allow large volumes of players to contribute to in-game POIs for their community. While there will always be generated points of interest for freemium players, premium players can decide where and what they want to exist and build it.
Players collect special mintable resources through exploration
These resources are used to build and maintain special community structure
10000 Life Essence can be contributed to build a Life Well at a specific location
These buildings need maintenance and ownership can shift if a different in-game faction continues maintenance
Ownership won’t punish players, but it’ll give extra perks to the faction that owns the property
Drives community collaboration
Builds factional competition and naturally forms “guilds”
Creates ongoing engagement through seasonal control, maintenance, and lore.
Cosmetics can be of huge value to players in a highly competitive environment. That’s one of the reasons this comes last. We want to ensure a vibrant player community before pushing on cosmetics since their value increases with the community’s momentum.
Players can receive NFTs that translate to in-game cosmetics and customizations
Players earn these NFTs through engagement challenges
Ranking in the top3 on a dungeon leaderboard
Logging in daily for a month
Completing daily quests for a week
Players can equip and trade these on an open marketplace and have true ownership
Long term, cosmetic NFTs from other games on chain can be integrated into our game environment, allowing players to showcase their cross-game achievements
This can create high-scarcity releases similar to “the one ring” in the MTG Lord of the Rings packs.
Drive self expression and community identity
Opens the door further for UGC and community generated cosmetics, temp items, and more.
